We love Storm gents watches in the UK but who are they? Storm began it’s life in the competitive market for jewellery, but has since developed its range of unique high quality watches. With their very strong branding and a reputation for high class and stunning jewellery designs, this has also transferred to their Storm gents watches collection!

Storm Vulcan Slate

Storm watches are primarily made from high grade anti-allergenic stainless steel and feature Swiss or Japanese movements covered with scratch resistant flat, or elevated mineral clear or coloured glass. Watch features range from very simple analogue displays to more complex versions with gadgets such as a compass, tachymeter, temperature gauge, flip up covers, shutter mechanisms (e.g. see the Slate effect MK V left) and more.

As Storm gents watches are mainly made from stainless steel they are much stronger and tougher than softer metals such as silver, gold or brass. Unlike some cheaper watches, any applied finishes will not wear off. A few of the more intricate or unusually featured watches may be made from brass but this is always of a high quality. Titanium or ceramic may also be used in some watches.

Although most straps are made from stainless steel, some are constructed from leather or Kevlar, the latter having exceptional strength.

It is our opinion that the increasing interest in Storm watches is not only because of their high quality but because of their incredibly innovative designs. These watches must surely rank among the best on the market and IMHO a Storm gents watch would make an incredible gift someone!

Watch the video to see some close ups of the features that some Storm watches have. Sorry it’s in German and what our Frau is doing chewing a sandwich in the shop, who knows! But hey, it’s worth a look!!

Really don’t know how long these will be available for, so if you are interested, check them out quick!!

Luxury Raymond Weil Men's Watch

When buying a great gents watch it can seem really overwhelming with all the choices out there if you don’t know the tricks of the trade. Here, we will outline some of the best steps you can use to help find the perfect watch that will retain value and still appear stylish in the years to come.

The first thing most people consider is cost. Work out before you go shopping just how much you want to pay and don’t even look above this price range. Doing this will save you a lot of time and keep money in your pocket that you don’t want to spend. If you already know the make you are looking at, you will have some sort of idea of cost anyway.

Even if you know the make of watch you want, there are bound to me a lot of new styles available since you last looked. Decide on the features you want and examine the watches side-by-side if possible that have those features. You will be greatly helped in doing this if you understand exactly what the features are and do as well as the different plus and negative points of the metals used to manufacture the watch.

If you are looking for an investment, look on the Internet and check how this type and make of watch are doing in terms of value. Are they holding their own or decreasing or increasing in value? If it is an investment, you don’t want to pay over the odds for something that is going to decrease in value. As of today, one of the top choices for luxury watches is the Raymond Weil one shown in the picture. Not cheap, but follow the link and you will find it has at least 50% off (today anyway).

Once you have decided exactly what you want, sleep on it before you part with your money. This is a good idea as you really should shop around to get the best price anyway.

Once you have made your purchase, always consider insurance cover if it is above a certain value. Your house contents insurance should have the facility to cover individual items above a certain value so make sure they know as these typically have to be itemised. Finally, don’t lose your receipt as if you do lose the watch or it gets stolen, this will always speed your claim.

Watches make big statements about their wearers. Make sure your new watch shows your ability to make wise and stylish decisions on yours that will show your character for a lifetime! Follow these simple steps whether you are buying for yourself or for someone else as they will help you to find the watch you really want.
